Skill-a-thon 1.0 invites individuals, organisations, & teams to positively change India’s education & skilling landscape

EkStep Foundation (“EkStep”) is a non-profit organisation founded by Nandan Nilekani, Rohini Nilekani and Shankar Maruwada that seeks to extend learning opportunities to millions of learners in India. Sunbird®, developed by EkStep, is an open source set of building blocks for learning and human development that can be configured and extended by any organisation to run a platform that meets their needs and caters to the scale and diversity of India.

Decentralised Skilling and Education Protocol (DSEP) is working to revolutionise India’s skilling and livelihood sectors by following the principles of NDEAR (National Digital Education Architecture) and utilising Beckn Protocols. It is currently focused on developing open-source specs to enable the discovery of job and internship opportunities, courses and training, tutors and mentors, scholarships and grants, and more.

EkStep Foundation and DSEP community are excited to present Skill-a-thon 1.0, a unique hackathon that encourages innovating for a better future!

Skill-a-thon provides participants with the chance to demonstrate their skills to industry leaders and experts, learn about open protocols, develop solutions to current skilling and education sector issues, and make a difference with their ideas.

Prizes:
Participants have the opportunity to win prizes of up to INR 3 lakh in each category from a total prize pool of INR 16 lakh, a chance to present their ideas to Mr. Nandan Nilekani, receive verifiable digital credentials to strengthen their skills and resume, and gain bragging rights on social media.
