Creating a curriculum on tech products for college students

Hi,
We, at the Eastern Himalayan Foundation, have just started a Fellowship with undergraduate students in Darjeeling. These are young students in the age group of 17-22 roughly using smart phones for communication & entertainment. We are trying to understand how their use of the same device/s can be for their own growth, job readiness, improved diversity in exposure to higher learning and for social good/change (as they will be implementing community projects).

Hi Team,

Thank you for the important work you are doing and sharing your query and also welcome to the community!

We would recommend co-creating the curriculum with them instead of for them.
You could start with having discussions with them to understand their needs and aspirations and understand which skills and tools will be useful for them.
Once the skills are identified - content for most of these tools are readily available, esp Learnings videos on YouTube.
One of the ways to help them learn step by step and ensure that they have a learning path/ladder is to organise their needs in a ladder like the one shown below.

“Learning to Learn” & “Learning to ask for help” is also an important skill esp when it comes to tech. From googling to asking peers/friends for help. Any learning is lifelong so having these skills will help them grow.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out here as you go through this journey. We and the community will be happy to help.

Thanks so much. Would it be possible for you to do a session with our Fellows or help us conduct one to go further?
